The Hols begin...

The last few weeks have been busy, and Dad is finally on "holiday".

We have blitzed the front room, removed the Guinea Pigs and transported them into a nice new hutch outside, built by Dad and J from scrap wood and chicken wire. We thought they were attracting flies inside, and managed to slay in excess of 1000 houseflies using fly paper and an electric swatter from poundland.

Though on talking to colleagues at work, it may not have been the Guinea Pigs at all, as there seems to be a housefly-festation going round. But as you can see flypaper really does work - how very 19th century of us.

Today we put up E's climbing frame in the newly arranged front room (on account of the garden being either slabs (too painful if he falls off) or - at the moment - jungle.

As a holiday project Dad is building a simple CMS system suitable for a school Intranet (inspired by Fronter but aiming to be simpler to use).

Where did you get that great climbing frame? What kind is it?

We got the climbing frame in 2008 from Tesco. It was sold under their own brand and called "Monkey Bars". We got the last one at our local, end of line reduction for about £20 (Original selling price was about £65).

From appearances it seems to be identical to this one available at Argos:

Love the climbing frame. I'm sure E will have a great time.

I am definitely in favour of banishing the animals....

Have a great holiday!

Nice theme for your blog. But does the world really need a new CMS?

Re the flies - better than '7 with 1 blow'!

I remember when they were muckspreading in Sas Van Gent. Our house was full of flies and we had the old fashioned swatters like badminton raquets - I'm sure the zappers are more fun!

Well Dan .... Ellen is beginning to tire of the fly picture, which was gruesome to begin with, and very weary now ... An update maybe?
